Students complete the first 3 years in English at IUS (Sarajevo), focusing on theoretical and simulation-based education. The final 3 years are delivered in Turkish at UHS (Istanbul) through intensive clinical rotations in dental hospitals and university clinics.
The Dental Medicine program is designed to equip students with comprehensive and up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of dentistry. Graduates are expected to critically interpret and apply current scientific evidence throughout their professional lives, integrating multidisciplinary health knowledge into clinical decision-making. They gain competence in the selection and use of appropriate materials and devices for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, while demonstrating a strong commitment to medical ethics and evidence-based practice.
Students are trained to engage in scientific inquiry, contribute to research projects, and share findings at the academic and professional levels. The program emphasizes innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving in complex and unpredictable clinical scenarios. In addition to fostering effective communication and leadership among peers and society, students are encouraged to contribute to health policy development and quality standards through creative and socially responsible approaches.
The curriculum instills a deep respect for ethical, legal, and professional standards, environmental responsibility, and occupational safety. Embracing lifelong learning, students are prepared to adapt their practice to both national realities and global advancements in dentistry for the benefit of individuals and public health.
